FAQ

I only tattoo in black ink (a cruelty free, vegan-friendly brand).
When getting in touch with me about a tattoo idea, please consider the style, size and content of the work in my portfolio, which is predominantly inspired by botanical illustration. I work with a mixture of fine-lines and dark shading.
I often tattoo on a larger scale but am open to projects of all sizes. Full back pieces or full limb single botanical compositions (full sleeves of one type of leaf/flower etc) are always welcomed. Collaged compositions of smaller pieces (patchwork sleeves) are a speciality and a good way of building up a larger area over time. I’m also happy to tattoo small single flowers, plants or objects.
As a rule, I will not reproduce artwork made by another artist, even if it was designed for you or by you. Part of my job as an artist is to create an original tattoo in my own style that is specific to you.
I am always happy to book people in for a flash appointment, where you choose something from the selection of one-off designs I have available on that day, or to draw something freehand for you during that appointment - a great option for those who like my work but don’t have a specific idea in mind.
I primarily work freehand, by drawing the design directly on to your skin (usually for larger pieces) and do not send out designs in advance.

As a rough guide, my pre-drawn flash and hand-size pieces range between £250-380. My minature flash costs £100 per piece or £150 for two pieces in one session.
My day rate, for larger pieces, is £600, including drawing time if the piece is freehand. Full back pieces, sleeves etc will require multiple day sessions.

Due to the style of my work, I cannot take on large/dark/colourful coverups. If the original tattoo is very small/light, it might be possible so please email me to discuss, including a photo of the existing tattoo.
I recommend getting laser removal to lighten a tattoo before attempting any type of cover up. I personally had a great experience with Zapp Laser Clinic in Hove and recommend them for any laser treatment.
I am always happy to discuss covering old scars; they will need to be a year+ old and I ask that you send me a photo of the area when enquiring about the tattoo.

Some medicines and health conditions can affect or in some cases, prevent tattoo healing, especially blood disorders, diabetes etc. Please let me know if you are taking medication or are currently undergoing treatment, so that we can assess the risks and make an informed decision about your tattoo.
I am not able to tattoo anyone who is currently pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are due to cease breastfeeding in the near future, please don’t hesitate to book your tattoo in advance of that date.

All appointments happen at The Dollhouse, the private studio I originally co-founded, in the centre of Brighton.
