FAQ

    • My diary is currently open for appointments in Feb-March 2024 - use this form to enquire.

    • All my consultations are initially done via booking form, I do not offer in-person consults

    • When my diary is closed, please add your email to my mailing list to be notified when it opens again (usually two or three times per year)

    • For general enquiries (not booking requests) you can email me glangfordtattoo@gmail.com.

    • Bookings require a £60 or £100 deposit to secure, please ensure you are able to send this before submitting a form.

    • I only tattoo in black and grey, using vegan ink and other vegan products.

    • When getting in touch with me about a tattoo idea, please consider the style, size and content of the work in my portfolio, which is predominantly inspired by botanical illustration. I work with a mixture of fine-lines and dark shading.

    • I prefer to work on a larger scale; full back pieces are always welcomed, or collaged compositions of smaller pieces over a whole limb. I also take on smaller projects but hand-sized (15cm+) is the minimum I can tattoo something in my style.

    • As a rule, I will not reproduce artwork made by another artist, even if it was designed for you or by you. Part of my job as an artist is to create an original tattoo in my own style that is specific to you.

    • I am always happy to book people in for a flash appointment, where you choose something from the selection of one-off designs I have available on that day, or to draw something freehand for you during that appointment - a great option for those who like my work but don’t have a specific idea in mind.

    • I mostly work freehand, by drawing the design directly on to your skin (usually for larger pieces) and do not send out designs in advance.

    • Due to the style of my work, I cannot take on large/dark/colourful coverups. If the original tattoo is very small/light, it might be possible so please email me to discuss, including a photo of the existing tattoo.

    • I recommend getting laser removal to lighten a tattoo before attempting any type of cover up. I personally had a great experience with Zapp Laser Clinic in Hove.

    • I am always happy to discuss covering old scars; they will need to be a year+ old and I ask that you send me a photo of the area when enquiring about the tattoo.

    • As a rough guide, my pre-drawn flash and hand-size pieces range between £250-380.

    • My day rate, for larger pieces, is £550, including drawing time if the piece is freehand. Full back pieces, sleeves etc will require multiple day sessions.

    • All appointments happen at The Dollhouse, the private studio I co-founded in the centre of Brighton.

    • Deposit info/Reschedule/Cancellation policies: I will provide these when you book in.

    • Before your appointment: I’ll provide helpful information on how to prepare for your appointment, including appropriate clothing, parking, payment etc when I send your booking confirmation.

    • Aftercare: Every tattoo artist should recommend their personal aftercare advice specific to their style of work. I will provide mine when I confirm your booking.
